Hunting season is finally here and its time to get serious about the gear you wear. As usual, the weather for this fall is warmer than usual, yet you can bet that the first cold blasts of winter can’t be far behind. Jason Aldean is an avid outdoorsman and spokesperson for a special line of clothing sold at Dicks Sporting Goods under the Field & Stream
brand. During the last six month’s I’ve had the pleasure to test several items from the line and have been most impressed with the fit and quality of the F&S gear from clothing to tree stands. It’s no wonder that Aldean chose to endorse these products and in case you are not a country music fan, Aldean has had 15 singles hit number one on the Country chart and his first album, “My Kinda Party” was certified triple platinum. As his image suggests, Aldean isn’t going to buy hunting or casual wear because it has some trendy logo, but search for apparel that works while hunting and feels good in casual moments. Whether you buy clothes for mild hunting conditions or layer up for colder conditions, look for these three characteristics unique to F&S:
NOSCENTC3- These garments have antimicrobial and micro porous mineral technologies that combine to manage odor in 3 ways- (1) it conceals and absorbs scent molecules; (2) Contains odors by
inhibiting bacterial growth; and (3) charges during home laundering to renew odor controlling technology.
SMARTWICK- These technologies wick moisture and sweat away from the skin keeping you cool, dry and comfortable during warmer weather. They also work well as a base layer.
HYDROREPEL- Fabrics are water repellent and breathable, resist liquids and stains (Like spilled coffee) while allowing moisture vapor to escape for maximum comfort.
Additionally, Aldean endorses a casual line of gear including jeans and Classic Lightweight Flannel Shirts which have quickly become a fan favorite. Here’s what one very satisfied customer had to say.
This shirt is extremely soft and comfortable. This is my first Field and Stream Shirt I have ever worn, and it was so comfortable that I bought a pullover fleece for later this month. I wear this flannel on cool mornings here in Houston. You can roll the sleeves up halfway as well if the day warms up to the upper eighties like it has here this November. I cannot wait until fall finally rolls around so I can wear it more often.
The gear you wear will definitely affect how long you can stay outdoors. The more comfortable you feel, the longer you stay in the hunt and the better your chances of success.
