Not many hunters will get the chance to see their name in the Boone and Crockett record books next to a big whitetail.
This honor is reserved for a few of the great hunters that harvest a once-in-a-lifetime buck.
Since 1932, hunters have been striving to be the best of the best, and to have the honor of appearing in the book. I agree that hunting is not about wrapping your tag around a monster whitetail, but hunters seldom complain when they do.

Almost every hunter has heard of the “book”—the Boone and Crockett Club’s Records of North American Big Game. In 1932, B & C published its first records book which listed 50 whitetails of all types. In 2005 the 12th edition had, including typical and non typical whitetail and Coues’s deer, well over six thousand entries.
