A quality knife can prove an invaluable tool whether you’re in the kitchen or in the field. BLADE magazine agrees, and each year honors top knives rated on factors including utility, design, creativity, materials, aesthetics, and feel. Kershaw’s Zero Tolerance 0454 earned the Overall Knife of the Year award. Other awards were given in categories including best American-made knife, most innovative, and the best buy.

The leading factory knives were honored June 1 with the BLADE Magazine 2013 Knife-of-the-Year Awards, while the world’s pre-eminent custom knives were named in the show’s custom knife judging competition.

Thirteen different Knife-of-the-Year categories included 10 knives and one knife accessory. Two awards also went to individuals for special achievement in the knife industry.
