If you’re an avid boater, or just starting to pursue a new-found love for boating, you may have recognized the need for an autopilot system. Autopilots hold their course without getting bored or tired, and maximize opportunities to use your boat without needing extra crew members. They also can save you money by steering accurately and saving fuel. Garmin just unveiled its GHP 20 Yamaha steer-by-wire autopilot for the Yamaha Helm Master boat control systems.
“The GHP 20 Yamaha system will interface to a Yamaha Helm Master boat via an included gateway and take control for heading hold, basic patterns or GPS routes while the Helm Master system is in normal steering mode.”
The GHP 20 Yamaha marine autopilot system is scheduled to be available in the second quarter of 2013.
