Hunting is not all about killing big bucks. There are times hunters need to harvest an injured animal.
It’s nice to harvest a deer that provides meat for the freezer. And if you’re lucky, that deer might be a big buck.
But sometimes you need to take an injured animal out of the herd, even if it is not the animal you want.
It looks like this animal was hit by a vehicle and would likely have died.
It might not be what you want to do, but it’s up to you, the ethical hunter, to do the right thing.
I hope if you ever find yourself in this same situation, you’ll do the right thing, and put a deer (or any animal) out of its misery.
