I deer-hunted a steep ridge in West Virginia, sneaking to my post by flashlight. Settling against a stout tree, I switched off the light and waited for the first hint of daylight to break the inky darkness. Suddenly, something nearby began screaming, enough to make my hair stand on edge. I didn’t know what it was, but you can bet the safety on my rifle instantly clicked to “fire.” This video reveals a likely source — a cat in heat. Be it mountain lion or bobcat, you have to hear it to believe it.
What would you do if you heard this while you were out in the woods?
