A new documentary that should appeal to hunters everywhere has been making the film-festival circuit. The River’s Divide, from director Kyle Nickolite, follows hunter Donnie Vincent as he traverses the Badlands region of North Dakota in pursuit of a whitetail deer known as “Steve.”
The film covers a two-year quest as Vincent stubbornly pursues a single animal through the wide-open ranges of the wilderness. It’s an attempt to illustrate the reasons man is compelled to hunt, and the relationship he fosters between himself and his environment.
