Activity at the Elk Wallow [VIDEO]

Hunting a waterhole or elk wallow takes patience. This Stealthcam video shows that being at the right place at the right time is key to success.

I just returned from a Wyoming elk hunt with an empty cooler. Rutting activity was minimal, so I watched a wallow intermittently. At the end of the hunt, I pulled my Stealthcam and learned the bitter truth. Right place, wrong time.

This video comes in five segments: locating the wallow and posting the camera; a bear messing with its alignment; a big bull visiting while I’m hunting elsewhere; a decent 4×4 drinking by moonlight; and an off-camera bull throwing mud into the wallow, again while I’m not there. Bummer!
