Scouting in the pre-season may be more important for turkeys than for whitetail deer. If a deer finds your scent in his core area or you get busted as you look around, the deer may change its behavior completely. Gobblers will be located near nesting hens and even if you spook a tom, he’s likely to return to the same area, especially if it’s used as a strutting zone.
