Bowfishing is proving its popularity with each passing day. More gear is being introduced for fans of the sport, and some of these anglers are being credited with reducing the invasive species in certain locations. But this takes the cake. Our first video of the week showcases an underwater bowfishing session, and the results speak for themselves.
Maryland fishermen were out for tuna earlier this month when a mako shark came upon their natural dredge. The boat Pumpin Hard was pumping along at 6 to 7 knots, no match for a shortfin mako, which can speed along at 45 miles per hour for short periods of time. The mako’s feast was caught on video; check it out:
Finally, a video that’s been making the rounds online in recent days purports to show a man diving into a pond and emerging seconds later with a fish that he caught with his bare hands. Is it real? Fake? The Internet is debating the issue. By our guess, the fish was dead already, and trapped in a net. But take a look at the video and decide for yourself.
