If its new in the hunting and shooting world, it’s in Las Vegas at the 2014 Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show. Joe Byers is pounding the aisles for the hottest new products. Here are some of his favorites:
Kick the Recoil Habit
If you are recoil sensitive, Limbsaver has your answer with two new recoil pads, both featuring AirTech — the company’s new atmospheric chambers that produce a substantial increase in performance through uniform energy dissipation — and a non-slip surface to keep your firearm in place shot after shot. These new pads are available in popular sizes, or in a boot that simply slips over the stock.
Great Deer Knife
Outdoor Edge introduces the Razor-Pro, a double blade folder that combines a razor blade replacement system with their signature zipper blade; it looks to make field-dressing chores a snap. It includes six surgical replacement blades (which can be resharpened) and a nylon sheath. The handle comes in blaze orange, so you’re less likely to lose it.
If big knives are your thing, check out the Brush Demon, which comes in at 20 inches long and weighs more than a pound. This tool is a chopper, and ideal for many of the big cutting jobs needed in camp. It has a rubberized handle for a firm grip and comes with a nylon scabbard.
Finally, Outdoor Edge has folded all the knives and cutting tools you’ll need for a big game hunt into one foldable package. It includes a gut-hook skinner, camping knife, folding boning saw, wood/bone saw, rib-cage spreader, and sharpener in an all-in-one case.
Scent Killer for Her
More than just a pink box, this ultimate value pack includes Scent Killer Clothing Spray, a moisturizing body wash, salon quality shampoo, conditioner that’s safe for color-treated hair, and a premium quality bath puff.
