Creating the Perfectly Pitched Turkey Call Striker

Strikers begin as a block of wood and are turned into a pencil-like peg.

Turkey callers are musical instruments designed to create a specifically pitched sound. Custom call manufacturers search the world over to find the woods that create just the right vibration to recreate turkey sounds.

A striker, the peg that scrapes along the edge of a pot call, also helps create the sound. The perfect turkey call is the result of the combination of pot base and striker.
