I have heard that once a deer, elk, or any other big game on the ground that the fun is over, and the work begins.
I wouldn’t necessarily call it work, but it can be a hassle.
Especially if you don’t have the right equipment.
It is best if you have a guthook knife for field dressing, a fillet knife for trimming, a bone saw to get through the sternum and pelvic area.
Unfortunately, that is a lot of cutlery to carry around.
12 Survivors has you covered. They have a hand field dressing knife kit in a compact carrying case that will make field dressing your next big game animal a breeze.
