Hornady once again proved to be one of the stars of this year’s SHOT Show. I was lucky enough to hunt with some of the Hornady crew as they tested their new ELD-X hunting bullet, and I wasn’t surprised that the crowds jumped all over it.
As covered in a previous post, Hornady used Doppler radar to analyze bullet performance and found that traditional ballistic tips often deformed from the intense friction of a fast-moving projectile. Hornady engineers went to work and developed a ballistic tip that could literally take the heat.
