Waterfowl hunting is typically a late-year, cold-weather event, when migrating birds work their way south for the winter. Ironically, some of the best goose hunting occurs in September, when resident flocks fly from water roosts to agricultural fields. There, hunters can wait in ambush and have the shoot of a lifetime.
