This is a dream hunt for many bear hunters. Montana offers the chance to hunt black bears in a spot-and-stalk circumstance each spring.
When bears emerge from their winter dens, they feed exclusively on vegetation on open mountainsides. If you’re willing to hike into the back country and spend lots of time glassing, you’ll probably see a shooter bear or two. Instead of sitting in a tree stand over bait, you can be prowling the mountains, soaking up Big Sky adventure like a sponge.
