Hunters were the first, and remain the best, conservationists. Through taxes alone, hunters contribute hundreds of millions of dollars each year that support conservation of our nation’s land, water and wildlife resources. Outdoor Hub reports that the recent high demand for firearms will benefit these resources.
“The firearms industry isn’t the only group to benefit from the recent high demand for their products, wildlife will too. According to the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service, over $882 million in excise tax revenues will go towards funding state wildlife programs. These funds come from the purchases of sporting equipment such as bows, fishing tackle, ammunition and increasingly, firearms.”
Paying taxes may be an often dreaded part of life, but hunters can take pride in helping support conservation through the taxes they pay on firearms, ammunition, bows and other sporting equipment.
