There are recall notices out for two brands of treestand. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says Big Game and API Outdoors treestands both pose a fall hazard.
The CPSC says the cable assembly on either unit can release while in use. The products in question were both made in 2014. Both companies have reported at least one injury each.
Anyone who has these products should immediately stop using them and return them for free replacement cables. For more information, visit Big Game or API Outdoors.
