If you’re a dedicated archer, that usually means lots of time on the range and maybe a few 3-D tournaments along the way. The Rinehart target company offers one of the coolest 3-D shoots and has 14 weekend events scheduled throughout the summer and around the country. These are not intense competitions; instead, archers shoot for fun at an amazing variety of targets from deer to Dinosaurs at a very reasonable price. Participants can opt to shoot 50 or 100 targets per day, but be warned, the 100-round option is a pretty full day.
“Everyone’s a winner and there are no cash or product prizes, just lots of great fun and giveaways from our sponsors,” says Jack Gavin of the Providence Marketing Group. “We do have a Dirty Dozen contest at the end of the day where the top 12 teams of archers compete. This brings everyone together and we give out a few prizes.”
Entry fees begin at $10 for “cubs” (youngsters ten and under), and shooters can take as much time as they need. Crossbows are welcomed at most shoots, which occur Saturday and Sunday and attendees can participate on one or both days. Check out the complete national schedule.
