Video: How to Choose an Outfitter

You’ve decided to plan a hunting trip. The game and state have been chosen, and you want to take the extra step of hiring an outfitter to help make your hunt memorable and successful. But where do you find an outfitter? How can you be sure they’re reputable? Mossy Oak pro staffer Karl Badger explains how to choose an outfitter.

If you’re not familiar or don’t have a relationship with a professional guide and outfitter in the area you’re planning to hunt, fish or take a pack trip in, it can be a scary experience. You’re going to pay somebody hard-earned money out of your pocket and you want to trust that the person that it taking that money is going to give you a good return by at least getting you into an area safely, comfortably and hopefully successfully.

Badger says to first call the guide and outfitter association within the state you’re planning to hunt to obtain a list of the state’s licensed guides and outfitters.
